Main content

VACCINATION

  • Vaccinations for Covid-19 are recommended but not required for employees and students. Students in nursing, social work, and other programs with clinical field requirements may be required by their placement site to be up to date on vaccinations for Covid-19. Students should contact their program director for more information.
  • Students who have completed a Covid-19 vaccination series and/or booster should submit their updated immunization information to the Wellness Center.

TESTING

  • Covid-19 test kits are available in the Wellness Center for all faculty, staff, and students.
  • A negative test is recommended but not required for residential students before returning for the fall 2022 semester.

FACE MASKS

  • At this time, masks are optional on campus.
  • Faculty may require students to mask in classrooms during class sessions.

CLASSROOM GUIDELINES

  • Effective March 7, 2022, masks may be required at the discretion of faculty in the classroom.
  • Food or drink in the classrooms is permitted at the discretion of the faculty member.

QUARANTINE AND ISOLATION

  • Anyone who has symptoms of Covid-19 should remain off-campus or self-isolate on campus and get a test. Free home test kits are available in the Wellness Center (upper VAC).

What you should do if you have a positive Covid test or have been exposed to someone with Covid and are not up to date on your vaccinations.

  • Residential students who test positive for Covid-19 or have been exposed to someone who has tested positive and are not up to date on vaccinations should isolate themselves and contact the Wellness Center (585-594-6360 or wellnesscenter@shinjinclothing.com). Residential students can choose to isolate or quarantine themselves at home or move to an isolation room on campus.
  • Students who will miss class due to isolation or quarantine should contact their faculty members to arrange for make-up assignments.
  • Employees should remain off campus until cleared from quarantine or isolation.

ISOLATION GUIDELINES

  • Current guidelines require anyone who has tested positive for Covid-19 or has been exposed and is not up to date on vaccinations to quarantine for 5 days (day 0 is the day symptoms started or the day of the positive test).
  • After 5 days of isolation, if asymptomatic, employees may return to work, and students may return to class but must wear a mask while on campus at all times for five days
  • Please review the guidelines for quarantine and isolation found on the CDC website. This also includes a tool to calculate isolation periods.
  • NYS Department of Health has additional information and self-isolation orders available on their website.
